    The Cold Steel Canadian Belt Knife takes inspiration from a 1950's classic. It has all the features that made the original an award-winning, international favorite. Our more contemporary version is made out of German 4116 Stainless steel and hollow ground to a razor edge. It will glide through just about any material because its elliptical profile is very efficient at reducing cutting drag.

    The Polypropylene handle is equally efficient, fitting snugly in virtually any hand. It's slightly offset in relation to the blade to keep one's fingers safely out of the way. Light and tough enough to endure hard knocks, it will never break or fall apart in the way a traditional wood handle is prone to do.

    This 2-ounce blade comes complete with a pouch style black Cor-Ex™ sheath. It's light, slim and compact enough to carry on your belt or slung from a cord around your neck day in and day out.

    I bought this knife two years ago after looking at it in a magazine for several years. This knife is a similar (but smaller) design of an award winning (Russell) survival knife that has been around for decades. The designer of the original knife knew what they were doing...it has been used by the Canadian Armed Forces as a survival knife for decades. The blade angle makes it excellent for skinning and survival craft. I was sceptical of the knife because of the low price, so held off on purchasing it for a long time. (The original Russell design can cost over $100). After losing a high end $200 knife on a hunting trip, I thought I would take a chance. So far I not been disappointed. The CS Belt Knife is razor sharp and comes with a sheath with no retention device. (I worried it might fall out but so far it seems to stay put). I have used it to field dress ducks and pheasant, cut rope, slice up sub sandwiches and jerky for lunch...it does what you ask it to do. It has maintained it's edge....I have yet to touch it with a sharpener. Several hunting friends have bought one after using and seeing mine in action. For the price, they have no complaints (but we are all a cheap buggers). If you are someone who only buys the best, look at an original Russell or other Cold Steel. If you like value and want a knife that you don't have to worry about loosing in the field (and you can get over the cheap feeling plastic handle), look no further. Buy two, or three...This is a great utility survival or hunting knife. CS- It should come in a orange handle like your other survival knife. I might not lose it if it were orange...or maybe that's a marketing tactic:)
