As a nod to the great success of our Pendleton Lite Hunter, we have decided to make more economical versions of our popular Tanto and Outdoorsman knives. They resemble their more expensive versions in that they feature similar blades, guards, handles, and pommels. The only significant change was the use of slightly thinner German 4116 Stainless Steel blades, and the implementation of less costly materials in the handles.

The handles are made in two parts. They feature a Polypropylene guard, pommel, and core section, which totally envelopes the knives' full tangs. The core is then over-molded in a deeply checkered Kray-Ex™ for a non-slip grip that's impervious to the elements and is easily cleaned with soap and water.

To carry your knives safely and conveniently in the field, we are including a pouch-style Cor-Ex sheath complete with belt loop so it can be easily worn on the belt or tucked into your pack or tackle box.

The Outdoorsman Lite does the job!

Great value, cuts really well, super sharp out of the box, the bone breaker and glass breaker pommel (why no mention of this in the writeup? It's an awesome feature!) are fantasic, ergonomics are great, and the kraton is great. Sheath is great for the money, too.

My only gripe is that the sheath wears out the kraton pattern, but it's not really noticeable when you're holding the knife. Doesn't affect performance.

Thanks for giving us awesome knives at price points other manufacturers often won't even look at!

I live in Eastern Europe (Ukraine country).
Therefore the cost of the knife is important for me.
I bought this knife for three reasons:
    -low price
    -4116 Krupp Thyssen Steel
I use the knife for 1 years. Every day. Kitchen (mostly) and other homeworks.
KNIFE HAD BEEN NOT SHARPENED FOR THE YEAR! Only once I had corrected the edge.
Truly, there is a little wiped knurls under the thumb.

For me, in the world there is one manufacturer of knives.
    And this is Cold Steel.

I've been carrying the original Voyager folding tanto blade for duty over 10 years and knew Cold Steel made quality blades. So when I saw the Outdoorsman at a local gun show, I got one just for the hell of it. This past month, while rushing to gather my gear for a deer hunt, I took it with me and was pleasantly surprised. Used it as a skinner and boning knife. It did the job effortlessly. In fact, while teaching another "newbee", he missed the lesson because the knife was so good and sharp,I skinned and deboned faster than usual. He couldn't keep up with me:)...highly recommended

This has turned into my go to boning and skinning knife that I carry in my pack. Great quality for the price. I would recommend this to anyone.

This outdoorsman lite has blown away my expectations. I bought it originally most to test the cold steel quality and I wanted a full tang knife for gutting and processing animals. Well in the past couple years I have processed around 9 animals and only had to sharpen it once. It is very light and holds an edge really well. I might buy another just in case I lose this one. 5 stars for sure!
