Over the years our Pendleton Hunters have become enormously popular, and while we think they are reasonably priced, many have asked us for a more affordable Pendleton that will accommodate just about anyone's budget.

So we got together with Lloyd and designed a new knife we call the Pendleton Lite Hunter. In appearance it strongly resembles the rest of the family with a drop point blade, modest guard, hollowed bolster area and a flared butt to aid retention. The only major changes were the adoption of more affordable German 4116 Stainless steel and the use of polypropylene instead of Kray-Ex™ for the handle.

In our testing it got straight A's in the field as it is equally adept at field dressing and skinning, held a decent edge, was easy to sharpen, and proved to be tough as nails.

If you're looking for a very affordable hunting/utility knife that comes with a good, pouch-style sheath and delivers more than your money's worth in performance and value look no further than the Pendleton Lite.

Great little fixed blade. The cross section is like that of a straight razor, the sheath is rugged and swallows most all of the knife, it's also light enough to carry around all day, be careful because you just might forget it's there, and as long as you're not going to be performing contortions it stays put. Like all CS knives the tip is prone to bending a bit, but it's minute and a little stone work takes away any problems. Sharpens easy enough, and I have yet to see any rust on mine. Definitely worth the price and if you can get three, one for your belt, one for your truck and the extra for wherever you might need it.

I've had this knife for about 3 weeks now, and it's my primary work knife. In peaceful situations, this knife is definitely something you want to have on you because it does really well in tasks like splitting hamburgers and subway sandwiches. So make sure you carry this along with you when you're out with the family on a picnic or outing. If the situation does get serious and the lives of your loved ones are on the line, this can also be an excellent life saving tool against the wolves of society. The 2.5 mm thick blade is neither too thick or thin, so it's ideal for stabs or piercing cuts. The edge comes razor sharp from the box, so you could slash pretty well if you were forced to do so. The 4116 Krupp steel is still doing well, no signs of corrosion or cracks. The sheath, however, does tend to loosen up a little bit over extended use, which may cause the knife to pop out accidentally if you carry it vertically up. But that's a minor issue, and the knife overall is a high quality product.
