    Got the sk5 version in the mail yesterday. Compared it to my carbon V and was very disappointed with the sk5. The handle grip was loose and the kydex case looked like it was made for a child. The plastic piece that holds the belt loop to the case is as cheap as they come. The sharpening at the tip was several degrees off compared to the rest of the edge. I have 5 different models of cold steel knives and with the exception of breaking the blade on my mag II Tanto (early 90's model) CS knives have never failed me. Maybe more attention should be directed towards quality control and superior raw products and less on video hype. Hey CS, your reputation is only as good as the satisfaction of your last customer.

    I own the machete version, which works very well after a bit of sharpening. After sharpening the SK-5 Ghurka Kukri, this thing is scary sharp! It performs five times better than the machete version and downs 10" diameter deadwood in minutes with very little effort due to the heavy, solid weight of the blade. The performance and edge retention of this blade is simply phenominal!

    increadible knife.i am a butcher and i tested this knife at work on a pig carcase easily severing one of the trotters off a hind leg which is thick,hard bone.I stupidly tryed to sever a femur bone from a beef carcase but chipped the edge,hovever this is probably the toughest bone on a cow.a bit of filing with a eze-lap diamond hone and a few strokes on a coarse steel and it was cutting well again.I tested it on a 12" log and it cut like a racing axe(competition woodchopping axe).highly recomended.

    Kukri is total overkill for normal conditions in Europe, where I live. No wonder they call it "silent chainsaw." An impressive piece of equipment for the countryside...

    I love the Gukru Kukri, however with that being said, I would really like to see a training version of the Kukri become available. Keep up the great work Cold Steel.
