I'd really love to see a video "proof" that this blade is as badass as my imagination has me believing.

This is a long over due knife. The only thing I can see it needs is an optional black finish. Continue the good work.

Lynn Thompson's characterization of this knife as "beastly" is an understatement. I've been around a lot of combat and Bowie knives and I've never seen ANYTHING like this thing. It feels more like a battle axe than a "Combat Bowie." Glad for the double quillion grip--otherwise not sure how well anyone could handle it. The spine thickness and construction are daunting--I could see a backhanded whack doing almost as much damage as a slice. I'm a 1990's fan of Carbon V, so I was a little apprehensive when I read "AUS-8A," but this thing's durability, stainless qualities, toughness, and edge have made me a true believer. And it's a bargain--I've handled knives 2-3 times more expensive that pale in comparison. I'll be carrying this monster with me on every outdoor adventure from now on!

I received my Marauder blade this past Thursday and I must say for the price this is one of your best fixed blades...I especially like that the clip point or drop point or whatever you call it is reverse ground so that the tip or point of the blade becomes almost as wide as the spine giving it a blade point that wont snap off or chip away-for that to happen you would have to deliberately misuse and abuse the blade beyond the tolerances it was designed for. :)A superior blade!!!

Love this. Next you need to make an Arkansas Toothpick.

truly an awesome knife, I put it to the test and it did everything I wanted it to do and more, plus it was still hair popping sharp after woods. don't know about the sub hilt though that's the only negative. this knife is why cold steel can claim they make the world's strongest sharpest knives in my opinion.

you guys really should make a stress/ torture test video to show what the blade can do. I know that it's a top quality item, and I met a guy who owned a pocket knife that was just a little pig sticker made by cold steel. he had it for 20 years and never sharpened it. so imagine what a 9 inch bowie blade made by cold steel could do... I'd like to see it in action!

This is a very nice crafted smooth light knife. I did the old cold steel knife tests stabbing the point into two by four wood. the tip kept its point and did not break. next I hacked into the wood and it chopped off pieces like butter but was disappointed to see that the blade edge had gotten bent and brittle. re-honed it with a smith sharpener and the edge was back to shaving sharp. please other people try this and post your review. love your knives cold steel. If ratings can be given for looks alone this knife wins that contest. Already owning a large G-10 espada makes me aware of just how fantastic this style of blade is suited for the offensive combat role; the wide, deep, sweeping "belly" of the knife, gives it that great slashing ability, as well as being wickedly effective for short, cutting stroke, whoever designed this blade style for cold steel really did their homework well. But at the same time the espada in my mind was always limited by being a folder, because only a fixed blade could really bring out the full potential in a blade style like this. Paired with the sub hilt handle, I cannot wait to be able to have my own, this is one blade I'm daring to say that I will never regret purchasing when I get the cash to do so. Cold Steel has surely got another winner on their hands here, destined to rise through the ranks and rest among classic designs like their Outdoorsman, Voyager, Trail Master, Push Knives and Kukris.
