A successful turkey or deer camp isn’t just about scouting and strategy; it’s also about having the right gear to make the experience smooth, efficient, and enjoyable.

As a teenager, I remember joining my father on a men’s turkey camp where two of his coworkers and their sons joined us for the weekend. The turkey hunting was rewarding, and the food was hearty and satisfying. However, when it came time to return to camp after a morning in the woods, we had to remember Missouri’s hunting regulations, which required us to stop hunting by 1:00 p.m. That day brought colder-than-expected temperatures, and we were all soaked from the morning hunt. While camping with friends during our annual turkey camp or at a much-anticipated deer camp in the fall, my fondest memories are sitting around the campfire and visiting with family and friends.

Portable Power Bank – Keep your phone, GPS, and other electronic gear charged when off the grid. While I love the quiet time and break from the everyday world when hunting and camping, having access to phones and other electronics provides a sense of safety.
