The Italian Storta rose into prominence in the early 16th century, primarily in Italy. Its influences can be traced to the earlier Falchion and other influences. This sword became unique in its many forms and shapes becoming highly decorative but still deadly cutting swords. Luke LaFontaine based his design on two different stortas and a hand-and-a-half grip italian saber from the same period. Taking the best aesthetic and functional aspects to create a well-balanced, Strong Cutting sword. Our version is made from 1060 high carbon steel with decorative steel fitting and a beautiful leather grip that can accommodate a one or two-hand grip. A fantastic new sword offering from Cold Steel that we are sure fans will be eager to get their hands on.
